The LEMAS TR Series capacity ranges from 3′ to 10′ in length, and up to 5/8″ thick.

The LEMAS TR Series is a three-roll initial pinch bending roll built around hydraulic control — rear bending roll, lower pinch roll, cone tilt, and drop end all move hydraulically, driven direct with no belts. Setup is quick and the machine gets out of the operator’s way: the pinch gap indicator sets the roll gap to your material thickness so plate loads right the first time, and the hydraulic drop end clears a finished cylinder in seconds.

Roll Type

3-Roll Initial Pinch

Pinches between the upper and lower rolls, then bends with the rear roll — the most economical setup for cylinder work.

Rolling Capacity

3′ – 10′ × 5/8″

Across the series, rolling lengths from 3′ to 10′ in material up to 5/8″ thick, rated at 36,000 PSI yield. Capacity varies by model.

Standard Rolling Diameter

3–4 × Roll Dia.

At full plate width, standard rolling diameter is roughly 3 to 4× the top roll diameter of the model selected.

Standard Features

Direct-drive design
No belts or chains anywhere in the drive train — less to tension, wear, or replace, and power reaches the rolls without slip.
Pinch gap indicator
Insert a small tab of the material thickness you’re about to roll and the lower pinch roll sets to the correct gap for that plate. The plate loads and grips properly from the first insertion instead of the operator dialing the gap in by trial.
Hydraulic drop end
The drop end opens hydraulically so a finished cylinder slides straight off instead of being levered free.
Driven upper and lower pinch rolls
Both pinch rolls drive the plate, so material feeds under power rather than being pulled through.
Sumitomo Cyclo® 6000 reducers
Gearless speed reducers keep two-thirds of their gears in contact at all times, absorbing shock loads beyond 500% of rating.
Walk-alongside machine controls
Positions the rear bending roll repeatably, and forward/reverse rotation controls let the operator walk the machine while it turns.
Round bar grooves
Grooves for 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ round bar are cut into the rolls (except 80 series models).
Delivered ready to run
Ships with hydraulic oil, tools, technical manual and schematics, plus an emergency stop cable and manual tilt of the lower pinch roll.

Who is the North American distributor for LEMAS plate rolls?

Do all TR Series models share the same features?

Yes. Every machine in the TR Series carries the same standard feature set — direct drive, pinch gap indicator, power cone rolling, hydraulic drop end, hardened rolls, and Sumitomo reducers. The models differ in rolling length and thickness capacity, not capability.

What is initial-pinch plate rolling?

Initial-pinch machines pinch the plate between the upper and lower rolls, then bend with the rear roll. The plate is pre-bent at one end, then turned to pre-bend the other. It is the most common and most economical configuration for cylinder work.

How does the pinch gap indicator work?

It gives the operator a repeatable reference for positioning the lower pinch roll to the material being rolled, so the gap is set correctly every time rather than by feel. Consistent pinch position is what makes cylinder quality repeatable.

What is the difference between three-roll and four-roll plate bending rolls?

A three-roll machine like the TR Series pinches the plate between an upper and lower roll and bends with a third roll, pre-bending one end and then the other. A four-roll adds a second pinch roll that grips the plate on both sides of centre, so both edges pre-bend without removing and flipping the plate. Three-roll costs less and handles most cylinder work; four-roll saves a handling step and reduces flat spots on higher-volume or tighter-tolerance parts.

Can the TR Series roll cones?

Yes. The rear bending roll tilts hydraulically for cone rolling and the cone bending attachment is integrated as standard — no manual adjustment or add-on kit required.

Do LEMAS rolls need belt or chain maintenance?

No. LEMAS uses a direct-drive design with no belts or chains, along with Sumitomo Cyclo® 6000 gearless speed reducers, which reduces routine maintenance and eliminates belt slip.

How do you remove a finished cylinder from the machine?

A hydraulically operated drop end opens so the rolled part slides straight off, rather than being levered or lifted out.

How hard are the rolls?

All rolls are heat treated to 50 Rc and ride on spherical roller bearings on every roll.

Can the rolls handle round bar or flanged plate?

Yes. Rolls carry grooves for 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ round bar (except 80 series models), and custom rolls with grooves or hardened rings are available for rolling flanged plate.

Can options be added to a machine already in stock?

Variable speed control can be added to a machine already in stock. Extra digital readouts, front support arms with squaring, hydraulic top support, and custom roll crowning are factory-order options.

What comes with the machine?

Hydraulic oil, tools, the technical manual and schematics, an emergency stop cable, and manual tilt of the lower pinch roll.
