LEMAS Plate Bending Rolls Support High-Volume Tank Fabrication at Advanced Metal Solutions

Advanced Metal Solutions (AMS) of New Bloomfield, Missouri, has built its business on versatility and scale. Founded in October 2021, the metal fabrication company has grown to approximately 100 employees and produces a wide range of fabricated components, from stairs and platforms to large structural assemblies and industrial tanks.

“Metal fabrication is our forte—that’s what we do,” said Dean Lamb, General Manager of Advanced Metal Solutions. “If it’s metal, we do it.”

In recent years, tank fabrication has become a significant part of that work. Over the past three to four years, the company has fabricated approximately 40 tanks measuring roughly 10 ft in diameter and 40 ft tall, underscoring the need for dependable, production-ready plate-rolling equipment.

From Three-Roll to Four-Roll Performance

AMS initially invested in a LEMAS 3-roll plate-bending machine to support early tank fabrication requirements. As production volumes increased, the company relied on the machine’s consistent performance and repeatability.

“We had really good luck with the original LEMAS roll,” Lamb said. “As our volume increased, we realized we needed more capacity and more control.”

Based on that success, AMS expanded its plate-rolling capabilities by adding two LEMAS four-roll models.

“The four-roll is a much better machine for what we actually need to do,” Lamb said. “The guys in the shop love it. It does what we need it to do, we don’t have any issues. It was the right move.”

Supporting Long-Term, Increased Production Volume

A multi-year project tied to a new, state-of-the-art production facility in Indiana significantly increased tank fabrication demand. With dozens of employees dedicated to the project over several years, AMS needed equipment capable of sustaining production without sacrificing quality or uptime.

“That project really forced us to step up our game on plate rolling,” Lamb said. “The rolls became a necessity for the tank fabrication portion of our business.”

With three LEMAS plate rolls now in operation, the company has the capacity and flexibility required to support ongoing production needs.

Reliability and Service Drive Equipment Decisions

When evaluating capital equipment, Advanced Metal Solutions prioritizes machine reliability and customer service.

“At the end of the day, mechanical equipment is going to break—it’s just reality,” Lamb said. “When that happens, we need to know we can get parts, service, and support quickly so we can keep working.”

That philosophy extends across the shop’s equipment strategy and has reinforced confidence in LEMAS plate bending rolls and their long-term support structure. A minor issue with one machine highlighted the importance of responsive service when Trilogy was able to identify and supply replacement parts in just a couple of days to minimize downtime.

“Strong customer service is a big deal for us,” Lamb said. “When we need something, we need to get back up and running as fast as possible.”

Since 2001, LEMAS and Trilogy have delivered more than 1,100 plate bending rolls to customers across North America, backed by an industry-leading warranty that includes two years on parts and one year on labor.
